Your point? The question was:

"Other than the greenline, has any of the "major" manufacturers produced a
"professional level" instrument (even one prototype) from a material other
than wood? "

The Howarth is readily available (I could have ordered one from Howarth last
month at ClarinetFest had I been in the market - I don't know if any were in
their booth since I didn't really look). I haven't read any anecdotal info
either, but that was hardly germane to this particular question.
