Other than the greenline, has any of the "major" manufacturers produced a
"professional level" instrument (even one prototype) from a material other
than wood? Say, a plastic R-13, or perhaps even one made from wood with a
metal sleeve for the bore? Selmer has used hard rubber inserts in barrels
and i have not heard that they were considered to be a problem...what if
the entire instrument were built in that fashion?
M. Kloc, has Buffet made such a prototype in the past? If so, what
reactions were there to it?
