In most cases the facing is the only, or at least the most significant,
change from one mouthpiece model to another from the same manufacturer,
unless a different series is specified, like Vandoren's Java, etc. This is
no doubt why my results with Vandoren clarinet mouthpieces are so
consistent. Regardless of facing, they ALL play flat in the altissimo FOR
ME, whereas other makers' mouthpieces do not. Some sort of interaction
between their chamber/baffle and my oral cavity, I suppose. Pity, because
I like their sound.

Sadly, the very desireable Selmer arch-chamber design is now available ONLY
in their CLASSICAL metal mouthpieces, at beaucoup bucks.
