I play bass all summer, and switch to soprano in the fall. All those
plateau keys make my right ring finger lazy -- it doesn't quite cover the
hole even when I think it is, and (especially) C and D in the staff
simply don't sound. It's quite frustrating, but fixable -- I spend time
before band starts again retraining that finger.

I'm playing on a Buffet Festival; my outdoor horn is a 1960's Bundy, and
it does seem a bit more forgiving.
