To completely not answer the question you asked . . 8-)
Do you know that there are some mouthpieces available which have a rounded
chamber ? I use a Caravan large bore for "serious" classical work on my
alto sax. I believe the Rascher mpcs have a similar internal profile - I was
told that the Caravan has been tweaked to intonate better on a modern horn,
whereas the Rascher is more suited to an older instrument.
