It is pretty resistent, and won't be pushed beyond its limit, which is not
all that soft, but not so loud as a B-45, for example. With a softer reed,
you'll lose the altissimo. I had to go up in strength so I could hit a
high A, but still doesn't seem to bust the chops. On other mouthpieces, I
am more of a #3 kinda guy, but the O'Brien/4 1/2 setup is no more fatiguing.
