Oh Christine -- a further thought or two. You can buy your clarinet from
Muncy Winds through their 800 number.. They do have return previleges and
are very good about selecting instruments. Also, the reason your local
dealer may be more expensive is that they have to maintain a shop where
people can come in and try out instruments, buy music, etc. If you are
going to be playing for some years it might be worth it to pay a few dollars
more to have the ability to try out several, return your instrument, or -- I
know this may sound odd -- in part to support the continued existence of
music stores, because pretty soon they will all be gone and replaced with
Wallmarts, Starbucks, and RiteAids.
