G'day Tony,

Thanks for the well wishes for the concert. Should be
a good concert all up.

RAAF Central Band indeed used to get a lot of players
from the UK. A lot of those players spent anything up
to 25 - 30 years in the RAAF before retiring. I didn't
know John Fry personally but I have heard of
him...probably worked with people (Or perhaps met
former members ) who would have known him. In fact, I
have worked with many of the guys who came from the UK
to join the RAAF. All good musos in my opininion. Now
days, of course, they get all their players (as do we)
from the local pool.
We do a bit of work with Central Band; in fact I am
one of the lucky members of Air Command Band who are
joining Central Band on a tour of South Korea in
October! It is for a Tattoo I believe...I'm just
stoked about being chosen to go.
