Interesting about having to play alto, etc. on the side, Bill. I am just
the opposite. I find that playing on the side makes it more difficult for
me to get the mouthpiece into my mouth at the correct angle. I also feel I
have more control and the neckstrap is more comfortable when I play alto out
in front. I have not had an opportunity to try tenor in front. I do play
bass clarinet out front as well.
