Wow! My trip to London seems like a hot topic! While we're on it, let =
me
relate a few of my experiences:
At the Tower of London, we arrived very early there, so we were able to =
tour
it without too many people around (compared to what it's like DURING =
the
day!). So, as we were entering, we passed one of the Yeoman Warders,
affectionately known as the "Beefeaters", and I asked him a silly =
question.=20
"So, you're a beefeater, right?"
"Yes, I am, miss."
"So, do you, like, rip the heads off cows and eat them raw?"=20
"No, but we do that to American women!!"=20
"Run away! Run away!"
That was something I'll never forget. Something else I'll never forget =
was
having my wallet stolen in the tube between Russell Square and Holborn. =
That
was not fun, since my passport was in it, too. I think next time, I get =
one
of those hidden wallets you wear around your waist. I think this was a =
big
learning experience for me.=20
On another day, I saw Glenn Close filming a movie on one of the bridges
going across the Thames next to Parliament. That was exciting, until =
her
"folk" decided that they didn't want to have to share PUBLIC property =
and
shooed us away. Those Hollywood types. Thank the Lord there's no =
Hollywood
in England. I don't think the world could handle another one.=20
I think I'll remember more of these things once I get my pictures =
developed,
and that was back in March! I have some very interesting stories about
Paris, as well, if anyone wants to hear about my ventures in a =
nightclub in
the Latin District!

Hi Roger,
You`re probably right of course, but then the tourists` search is going =
to
take up some considerable valuable time trudging off the beaten track, =
(an
enjoyable experience for some) looking for the very pub which will =
cater for
this dish. I`ll bet you a pound to an American burger that it is =
probably
easier to find than what >I originally stated, - go to Piccadilly, and =
the
Ritz will probably sell you that very same dish for about 25 English
smackers.
Not >my idea of "bangers`n`mash" tho`. When all said and done tho`, =
it`s
getting rarer. I tell you what - - -next time you`re in London, you =
find a
place within 24 hours that sells "traditional" bangers`n`mash for =
around =A35,
and I`ll meet you and buy it for you. If you can find a Young`s pub =
that
also does it, I`ll buy you beer also, for the whole evening. How`s that =
for
an offer!? You`ll have to see me home safely tho` afterwards.
Back to painting doors.
Best Wishes.
Tony W.
