Hello fellow clarineters! I'm a faithful lurker in search of musicians in
the N.E. Florida area. If you're looking for the opportunity to play with a
bunch of real nice folks who play well and cover some the best of present
and past band literature, please read on. Here's our press release, it says
it all:

The First Coast Wind Ensemble will hold auditions for adult amateur and
professional wind and percussion musicians on Tuesday, August 29, 2000.
Auditions will take place in the Jacksonville University Band Room beginning
at 7:00 p.m. There will be playing opportunities in most sections. Please
contact conductor Artie Clifton at (904) 745-7370 for information on
audition and membership requirements. Present openings and reserve positions
are filled by invitation only upon completion of an audition.

The First Coast Wind Ensemble is a non-profit organization of volunteer
musicians dedicated to providing its community with outstanding performances
of high quality wind literature. Membership in the ensemble is composed of
musicians from Jacksonville and Northeast Florida, ranging in background
from professional musicians and educators to business professionals and
college students.

First Coast Wind Ensemble co-conductors are Artie Clifton, Associate
Professor of Music at Jacksonville University, and Dr. Dale Blackwell,
former Professor of Music and Director of Bands at Florida Community College
in Jacksonville. Now entering its eleventh season, the ensemble continues
the great American tradition of community bands and wind ensembles.
