I have no advice to offer you with respect to physical aspects of your
clarinet since you appear to be pursuing those avenues dilligently.
However, I would like to offer the suggestion that, as one becomes more
and more proficient on the instrument, one also becomes more and more
critical of the character of the sound being produced. Further, you
hear yourself differently as your ear gets better and better.

Now I am not suggesting for a moment that what you hear of your playing
is all psycological, and it probably is not. I simply did not want to
dismiss another avenue of possible fruitful exploration.
