Subj: [kl] audition suggestions

Hello all,

I'm auditioning for the first time for a symphony in a few weeks,
and one of my audition pieces is a "bring your own solo". Not
having auditioned before for a professional group, I'm curious
what a standard solo might be for me to perform.

My first inclination was to play the 3rd piece from Stravinsky's
Three Pieces. I also thought about playing the cadenza from the
Copeland Concerto. I already know each of these, so I could
spend a little time polishing and devote the majority of my time
to the orchestral reportoire.

I'm wondering if either of these pieces would be considered "standard"
or if there are others that "everyone expects to hear".

Thanks for your suggestions!
