Bill,
Remind me NOT to meet you when you stop off at Heathrow for your UK break,
if you decide to suddenly take a fancy to performing your <garlic concerto>
prior to disembarking. You wouldn`t be too welcome in Transylvania also, I
guess. And also, coincidentally, (I hope), whilst at York, we played in
Whitby, a picturesque fishing town on the East coast, which is where the
opening scenes occur, (if I`m not mistaken) of Bram Stoker`s Dracula.
Someone here in UK wants me to take care of the orchestrations for a new
stage musical featuring a few fangs. That`s all I`m allowed to say at
present. Possibly a dodgy venture. I might have to show him a clove or two,
or failing that, could I borrow your well oiled clarinet to stake him with.
I will return it to you fully de-gauged. I didn`t know Bram (Abraham) Stoker
was indeed Irish. He lived from 1847 - 1912, at around the time of huge
emigration to your homelands. Do you know of any Stokers` in the U.S. Bill?
That would be interesting to discover. (You might find that they <would> be
able to tolerate your concerto!)
Ah well, it`s day time here - - - -back to sleep - - -
Count Tony.

<><> Don`t look at Bill`s 10 reasons Gary, he`s <deadly> serious.

Actually, reason #1 *was* serious and for real. I had never eaten
a whole garlic before, and so I tried it. I don't mind the taste of
garlic as a seasoning, and other people in my household thought the
taste of an entire garlic was great, but frankly it didn't turn me on.
Afterwards I went upstairs to practice, and I brushed my teeth, but
since garlic hangs around for a while, I really did wonder if my reed
and corks would pick up the taste and aroma.
I decided to practice anyway. So tomorrow I'll learn the answer to
another important question about clarinet playing.
