Ben,
I've found through experimentation that good CDR media burned at not greater
than 2X speed are readable on DVD players (I've gotten 100% readable so far
on 3 different brands of DVD players using TDK and Sony). If I use cheap
stuff (like 100 CDRs on a spindle for $50) _none_ are readable on a DVD, and
about half the regular CD players have problems (long track seek times,
etc.). They work just fine for data (backups, etc.), though.
