The question that arises in my mind is: what about audition tapes? Is there
any festival or orchestra in the world that will accept an MD or DAT? In spite
of technology advances, most still require good ol' fashioned cassette, true?
If the answer is yes, what is the solution to the quality dilemma? Do I make
my high-quality MD- or DAT-based recording and then somehow dub it onto an in-
ferior audio cassette for submission to the personnel manager of This & That
Philharmonic/Music Festival? Or do I just go ahead & use a Sony Pro or some
other cassette-based system and resign myself to *those* results? What is
the best compromise?
