I don't mind the quality of the MiniDisc, but the blasted thing is too small
and the buttons are all multi-function. The remote "lapel clip" control is
for playback only - I wish it was for recording/editing too. I built a
battery pack witha few parts from Radio Shack so I can record now for 4 or 5
hours straight without worrying about power. I keep the recording in a
camera bag while recording so I don't pick up the "whirr-click" sounds it
makes when recording.

I haven't found a rugged portable model yet with dedicated controls (and I
have no money to buy another even if I did find one).
