I bought mine about 9 months ago. The store where I bought it
sells quite a few of them on an ongoing basis to musicians who want to
hear themselves or to make their own accompaniment tapes (a _really_
useful thing, IMO). However they are not sold by the average stereo
store. I don't know whether this is because Sony has two different
sales organizations, or perhaps most stores don't think that a "Walkman"
for $350 will sell well enough. But they are still made.
