All absolutely true. The progression from being able to criticize others
easily to criticizing myself objectively was difficult. A good teacher
helped. Now, I find I am much more sympathetic towards the playing of others.
I imagine whether I could even come close under the circumstances of the
performance I am hearing. Often I am too scared to answer!
