You experience shooting pain after only fifteen minutes? 'Sounds like damage
has been done to your wrist and you may be on the fast track to a case of ten-
dinitis. Whether it's $10 or $110, get the equipment issue fixed ASAP. After-
ward, you might also consider laying off the instrument for a few days (or more)
to give your wrist a rest, and then ease back into your regular practice routine
over the course of an additional week. You shouldn't be playing in pain, and
the moment you feel it is the time to take a rest. Hopefully a correction to
your thumbrests will also become a permanent correction to the pain in your
wrist. We all wish you luck!
