I am not an expert on copyright
but I support a code of fair practice.
The score was not intended to be "for sale"

Truth is that I have to lend my set of parts
to another clarinettist who already has a set
at Summer School/Music Camp because
there is no score, so that the tutorial staff will
have something to read. Some of them tend to put on a
little drama/tantrum, if not handed a score pronto
having done no preparatory work themselves,
and if there is none, there are questions
"in the house" as to "how this work got timetabled"
especially when they meet an unfamiliar work,
let alone an unfamiliar composer - Robert Fuchs wrote
many other chamber works with and without piano
(including 4 string quartets), so there are no real
excuses for professional string players who
specialise in chamber music from missing him).

If money was collected at all, it was to pay the copyist
to make the score, but no one asked me to contribute.
It may not have happened in the end.

I have a English translation, by Linda Trotter,
of the German preface to the Wollenweber parts
kindly provided by Justin O'Dell in Kalamazoo from
that time - 20/Sept/95. Thanks for that!!
