A number of years ago I listened to the many recordings of the K622 I =
owned and used a metronome to find the tempo of each performer. Realize =
that no one played exactly with the click, but it was interesting. I used =
a Dr. Beat, which gives MM by individual numbers, not in gaps like a =
traditional MM. Some performances varied in tempo and I give them as X-Y
Performer, MM for I, II, III
L. Walch, 120, 76, 76
Karl Dorr, 112-116, 88, 80+
Jost Michaels, 112, 76+, 80
Robert Marcellus, 118-122, 76, 82+
Harold Wright, 116, 100, 80+
A. Prinz, 116, 86+, 76
Frank Cohen, 116+, did not write down, 84=20
Jack Brymer (Marriner) 116, 84, 80
(James Galway, 116, 88+, 88+ Interesting on a flute)
This listening marathon happened about 15+ years ago, and I had recorded =
the numbers on the outside of the file folder which has my various =
editions of the concerto. There are many other great recordings out since =
then which I own but have not "measured". =20
