Does anyone have the in depth knowledge/experience to advise Klarinettists`
of what these characteristic differences are, in both comparing <different>
manufacturers, and also within the <individual> instruments?

The sales staff in the stores always seem able to explain with confidence
what these characteristic differences are. The manufacturers leaflet
brochures are also very enticing, always including technical and aesthetic
improvement/development.
Can we use this "advice" without question, or do we have to be somewhat
dubious when listening to sales staff. Most sales staff seem to be not <too>
serious as players, and quite serious when selling.

Music teachers also do not have a great in depth knowledge of this - it can
be quite time consuming. and after all, the student will often go for the
instrument which tallies with his/her budget.

There might be a web site which would be helpful.

Anybody - - - -? - - - - - not <anybody>, but - - - you know what I mean,
or to quote Frank Bruno`s famous Cockney equivalent line, "Nah - mean?".
