I am playing an O'Brien OB* lately myself. They may also not be made
anymore, but I am not sure. It does not have a lot of power in the lower
register, but it is very even throughout the range, and seems to have very
good intonation and articulation, and blends very well in the band section.
The OB* facing is relatively close, similar to a Selmer HS*, but it is (was)
available in other sizes. I just saw a 3* (about two sizes more open) on
eBay today.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
