I have seen this happen as well. However, I was extremely gratified when
the mother of a former student stopped by the other day and told me that her
daughter had not been doing as well as she could have been if she had been
taking lessons. So I felt justified in my attitude, finally. I wish all
the parents thought like this lady. And the kid has talent. She just
doesn't like being told what she doesn't want to hear.
