I think we could do with Dan Leeson's input on this one.
Crotchet/quarter note = 42 seems unbearably slow to me (so who am I,
though?).
The note values are mostly pretty long for an adagio - I think this should
be an indication that it shouldn't be v-e-r-y s-l-o-w. I find Brymer's
speed very slow, for instance, though this may be more his manner of
playing that the real tempo.
