This statement sums it all up for me. In my 48 years I have undergone
almost $100,000 worth of oral and maxillofacial surgery *just so I can play
the clarinet* and I don't even make a living doing it. When you add in all
the money spent for new and better equipment that improves my ability to
enjoy this instrument, in addition to what ever pleasure others might derive
from my doing so, you're talking big bucks. I am not a rich person. My
family has stood behind me with encouragement, money and smiles from the
enjoyment of my concert performances. I would do it all over in a heartbeat.
