regarding the tempo of the second movement of the Mozart Concerto, Jim

I first studied the slow movement when I was about 12; I felt then, as now
that less than 60 is too slow. IMVHO, it is possible to play this so slowly
that any music remaining in it is wrung out entirely. It has always felt
more natural to play it faster than 42!!! BTW, where did 42 for the second
movement come from, anyway? I don't think it was Mozart.

Cheers,
Patty Smith
