I have the same problem with my Bb Yamaha 72CS, which did not come with an
adjustable thumb rest.
I believe that the low thumb rest in combination with having very long
fingers causes a lot of
tension in my right arm (with or without a thumb rest pad). Recently, I
inquired about an adjustable thumb rest
with the shop where I purchased my instrument, but I have yet to hear
anything. Would appreciate any advice.
