Some scholars say as early as 4, but others contend that Leopold
played a significant role in those early attempts at composition
and they don't really qualify as Wolfgang's work. His first operas,
like "Apollo and Hyacinth" at age 11, are also often dismissed by
scholars as lacking noteworthiness, but he definitely wrote them
himself.
