An Eddie Daniels is a modified Rovner, with a ribbed metal plate inside to
contact the reed. I use a Rovner on bass, and a new-style Eddie for clarinet
(on an Eddie Daniels mouthpiece), and I think the metal strip is a useful
addition to the Rovner, but it may not suit others.

I am at the Kammermusik of Santa Fe woodwind workshop next week and the head
coach, Lori Lovato, does have a bunch of Eddie's of various types (Eddie is
_her_ coach). Lori is on the list - Lori, are you listening and can you
reply direct? If not, I'll put the two of you in touch next week. Bob (the
Bob who wanted the ligature) please describe just what you mean by "old
type" as I think Eddie actually went through several designs. You can email
me off-list and I'll see that Lori and/or Eddie gets it.
