I hate it when companies do this. Among an entire product line, they have this
one item that just kicks a** because it happens to have just the right balance
of needed features and is reliable. That's the Seiko DM-20. And now you guys
are saying that Seiko is discontinuing the model and replacing it with something
clunkier and less sleek? I realize that I'm picking knits here (we're all clar-
inetists, so I should be in good company), and the replacement model isn't a
foot-wide box or anything, but it's the principle of the thing. Nike did the
same thing with the Daybreak running shoe fifteen years ago, and had I known
that they were going to discontinue the design, I would have bought every pair
of size 10.5's in the entire state of California at the time. I recognize the
marketing and competitive rationale for the decision, but it's still very annoy-
ing when people mess with a good thing.
