As we play an instrument usually made (though not always) of the wood of an
endangered tree, African Black Wood, I don't think that it is too far off
topic to keep an eye on environmental happenings. Perhaps you could do some
checking on what is current, accurate information regarding African Black
Wood trees as well. There was a thread on FLUTE not long ago concerning
materials instruments were made of, and what is environmentally sound
practice in instrument manufacture. As I was timidly lurking and very new
to that list, I do not recall specifics. Anyone?
