Heh...that and the fact that anyone with enough time on their hands could=
=3D

just invent a couple hundred or thousand names and add them to the list..=
=3D
..poof,
instant petition! Never left the originating computer, but there's no way=
=3D

to tell. This ease of forgery is why NO email petition is ever worth sign=
=3D
ing,
because nobody accepts them as valid anyway. And I'm pretty sure that I
read on some urban legend site that the this rumor about the Brazilian go=
=3D
vernment
is, while not entirely false, so wildy inaccurate that even sending a VAL=
=3D
ID
petition on this subject would elicit basically the same response as a pe=
=3D
tition
saying that the signers are protesting new legislation that would legaliz=
=3D
e
murder in Brazil. If I can dig up the site where I read about the inaccur=
=3D
acy
of this rumor, I'll post it later, if anyone is interested. So basically
what we have here is a completely worthless petition that protests someth=
=3D
ing
that doesn't exist. Boy, someone really hit a home run on this one, eh?
:)

I don't need a life. I've got orchestra!

But also completely ineffective as a petition--think about the shape of
the
message tree, how much duplication of information there is, and how much
will be lost when any individual message gets to the intended recipient,
if
ever. It is of no use to anyone.
