Mark, I was at Jim's studio in 1992 and got an "M~" and an "S" model. Being
such a long time ago, I've forgotten what these models indicate. I also
wonder what the actual purpose is making them asymmetrical. I frequently get
the question and I can never give a good answer. They still play great and
I'm very happy about them. I was there together with Eric Hoeprich. Maybe he
remembers.

doesn't specify asymmetric. Almost all of Jim's mouthpieces are asymmetric -
the symmetric ones are normally made for a specific person.
