I'm sorry Ed, but Jim didn't make my mouthpiece for me. I selected them
out of approxiamtely 20 mouthpieces at Clarinet Fest in Arizona several
years back. He made no adjustments on mine.

David Shifrin's was also asymetrical (Pyne). Richard Hawkins told me that
Pyne's decision to do this was based on his research. I can't speak for
Jim Pyne - just what others have told me. Every Pyne I have measured has
been asymetrical.

Regarding the first assumption/presumption - not all people in the
mouthpiece business make asymetrical mouthpieces as a general rule.

Again, I urge you to visit with Jim Pyne personally before making any
absolute statements about his mouthpieces.
