Dear KLARINET READERS:

I am writing to introduce myself and promote a new Clarinet Concerto by Bra=
zilian composer Daniel Wolff. Dr. Wolff was a 1999 Grammy Award nominee an=
d is very well-known in his native Brazil. I recently commissioned the Clar=
inet Concerto from him, and performed the World Premiere on April 9, 2000 i=
n Porto Alegre, Brazil. The CD of this work is due to be released commercia=
lly in October of this year. The work received a standing ovation from the =
550 people in attendance at the premiere. I believe that this work will bec=
ome very beloved by general music audiences. It is very Brazilian--full of =
optimism and catchy "baiao" rhythms. The feedback I have received thus far =
is very positive. I anticipate performing the New York premiere at Merkin C=
oncert Hall next season with the North/South Consonance under the baton of =
Max Lifchitz. In the meantime, I am actively promoting this work. Please do=
