For my comfort and the playability of my reeds, I find relative humidity to
be as important at temp.
Right now, at the Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, the temp. is
90 and the humidity is 48%. Here in Ogden, Utah, we have 78 degrees and 41%
humidity. I'm finding it quite comfortable. Haven't done any playing yet
today. Usually, my reeds, single or double, work better when humidity is a
little higher. When I say higher, I mean higher than the 12 and 14% we've
had the last several days. THAT'S BONE DRY and it makes life very hard for
us Utah reed players.
