I don't think the opinions have changed. There are a few rabid fans
on the list, and a bunch of people like me who think the Legeres aren't
as good as the best cane reeds in a box, but maybe as good as the 3rd
best out of 10, and very dependable.

Recently I did an outdoor gig where we started out in hot late-afternoon
sunlight and ended up shivering in evening breezes. I played my plastic
Bundy and a Legere reed and had no worries. What still boggles my mind
about the Legeres is that they are playable without moistening--very handy
for intermittent playing, e.g. at a graduation, or a 4th of July with lots
of speeches.
