Sorry to report, no beer at my 4th gig. We did a big band gig in the
shade of a huge tree. A slight wind came up late in the concert but we
all had Plexiglas sheets. We played upbeat stuff, In the Mood, Two
O'Clock Jump, Sing, Sing, Sing. The crowd seemed to enjoy themselves. A
few were dancing on the grass. All were well behaved.

American Patrol was as patriotic as we got.

I remember one 4th when I was playing bassoon with an orchestra. The
wind got wild. When the fireworks started, they started raining down on
houses just outside the park. The fire marshall had to stop the show.
