In my view you've put your finger right on the spot here, Doug. And the
fact is that *any* edition of this sort is up the same gum-tree, because
notation simply can't do the job in this sort of music.
I always carry a large eraser with me to my classes, too. Sometimes
students play much better when you rub out all the crap that's
accumulated over the years.
