Dan Sutherland stated emphatically:
<<<The best beer is Granville Island English Bay Pale Ale. I know this
because after several of them I appear, at least to myself, far more clever
than before. But you did mention "taste", a quality with which I have no
interest or experience.>>>
. . . how can a Canadian beer that purports to be "English" possibly count
among the best?
Very [un]clearly, the world's best beer in Guinness. And a good thing, too.
As my grandfather (Ned Clancy) used to say (a maxim I am sure he pilfered),
Guinness is a heavenly nectar sent from on high to keep the Irish from
ruling the Earth . . .
The most popular beer in the world is Budweiser, which I guess is the brewed
equivalent of Britney Spears. Sells a lot, guaranteed to be fresh.
James Marioneaux posted:
<<<My dad (rest his soul) always said the best beer is whatever happens to
be on sale that week. I would usually had to be careful before answering
when he said "Want a beer?">>>
Grandpa Ned had a similar outlook. He opined that whilst some beers were
tastier than others, the only "bad" beer was no beer.
. . . which reminds me, I need to pick some up for the 4th . . .
