Tony,
I would agree with you. I am intending to take it up again, which is why I
dug the ol' thing out of the closet in the first place. I'm looking into
the possibility of a new (or at least newer) clarinet rather than
refurbishing this one. Mostly my question is out of curiosity. I can't
imagine that the instrument is worth the $150 to repad/cork it. Things keep
coming to mind like is it really a Bundy. Was it really manufactured with
hybrid parts. (I've been searching the archives for this answer but haven't
come up with anything yet). Are all horns of this type extremely difficult
to play. When I first had it repadded/corked many moons ago it still took a
lot of wind to play. Like I said, it's more curiosity than anything. I
would like to get an intermediate level horn though.

Charles

Charles,
If you intend to take up the clarinet again, quite seriously, would it be
possible for you to get a <new> instrument, even if you can only afford
another student model. I think I would try to do this. You can indeed get
some very good ones. Your own instrument sounds <even tho` I can`t hear it,
(grin)> as tho` it`s seen better days. Do give it some thought - you are
<not me>.
Best Wishes,
Tony W.
