Hi there. Last night one of the community bands I belong to played a
concert for the MO Band Masters Assoc. meeting and several local
stores had instruments on-hand. One store was showing a Buffet
F-13, with a list price of about $1500 more than the R-13 sitting
next to it. A couple of the music store types in the band asked me
about it and I had never heard of it. I've looked at the
Buffet-Crampon web page and they do not list an "F-13". What were
they looking at? (A Festival, maybe?) Unfortuneately, since I
didn't get to look at it closely, I don't know the details beyond
the keys were clearly silver-plate (of course, every clarinet there
except the Vito Dazzler (green - ugh) had silver keys). More than
one asked me about the clarinet, so I don't think they were
mis-reading the card - but no one could get close enough to really
look at the clarinet since exhibits were still being set up.
