I have in my posession a Bb clarinet an acquaintance is trying to sell.
Neither he nor I have been able to find any information about this model #
which in not in the current Yamaha catalogue. It is a Yamaha YCL81 (not an
881 or 681 which are eefers, but just a plain old 81). This instrument
bears serial # 00698. It is in excellent condition, good pads, corks,
springs, etc and plays well (as well as an aging doubler can play it). Does
anyone care to venture an opinion/authoritative statement on its original
value and what it might be worth today?
