There have been at least 10 recent messages
about cuckoos, so I guess one more will not do any damage

The craziest cuckoo I know is in Ilja Hurnik's wind quintet
called 'The Four Seasons' or, in Czech, "Ctvero Rocnich Dob" 1956
(Sorry accents missing)
It is a very entertaining and charmingly disarming work, and has 9 movements
of which the second (before the audience has settled down)
is "Kucacka". The clarinet has to play in obviously the wrong key
and at the wrong time, and generally makes a nonsense of the whole thing.
And .. the entire clarinet part is at concert pitch, (C clarinets to the
fore)
There is no commercial recording.
