Somewhere in the mass of clarinet related tapes that clutter my studio is
a tape of HRS playing K.622 on a basset clarinet, from the 70's, at one
of the National Clarinet Clinics (precursor of the ICA and ClarinetFest)
held at University of Denver. He played it on a modern instrument
extended to low C IIRC, and only with piano accompaniment. It was my
first introduction to the concept of the extended clarinet for K. 622,
and it was a revelation to me. I don't know if HRS ever made this
performance into a commercial recording.
