Klarinet Archive - Posting 000976.txt from 2000/06

Today the local store had only V12 reeds in stock, so I bought some
-- partly just to experiment. The label says that V12 is thicker. Does
this translate into anything else besides 'stiffer'?

The V12 label also says "designed for mouthpieces with longer
facing." The facing of B45 is 36 mm. A few mouthpieces have facings as
short as 28 mm, and a few as long as 44 mm. So I suppose 36 mm isn't
really "long"?

(Of course, what really counts is: "How does it play for you?" But
any comments are appreciated.)

Thanks,
Bill
