Ken,

The person playing the cadenza was probably either Patricia Kostek who now
teaches in Victoria, British Columbia or I suspect Wendy Brannen (when she
was married to Bill Brannen of Brannen Woodwinds fame). The other sub.that
you mentioned has only filled in on occasion within the last 4 or so years
and not in any solo role at all.

Yes, our own Grover Schiltz is the finest English Horn player that I know of
and a fine person and personal friend. I'm not surprised at your impressions
of his playing!

By the way, Clark Brody - Fritz Reiner/CSO principal clarinetist and now
retired living in Evanston will be profiled at the Oklahoma Clarinetfest in
July. David Hattner of NYC will make a presentation after having made a
video tape of an interview he did with Brody in Evanston a couple of months
ago. I believe that Brody may also be in attendance at the conference. This
is I believe a long overdue tribute to one of the legendary orchestral
clarinetists of the last century.
