The absolute best key oil, I've found, is used engine oil from my 27 h.p. Ford
diesel tractor, after the oil's been in the tractor for at least 125 hours of
operation. At that point, the oil is a thick, murky black goo that smells bad,
too. Then, I mix it 50/50 with some twice-used cooking oil, preferably virgin
olive oil, although sesame oil is OK and smells better. I put this gloppy mess
on the keys and they don't make any noise! (unfortunately they don't move at
all, either).
